Jimmy Clanton is an American singer who rose to fame in the 1950s and 1960s. Born on September 2, 1938, in Raceland, Louisiana, Clanton was one of the few white artists to succeed in the New Orleans R&B and rock'n'roll scene. His biggest hit, "Just a Dream," released in 1958, reached number 4 on the Billboard chart and sold over a million copies. Other successful songs include "Go, Jimmy, Go" and "Venus in Blue Jeans." Clanton also appeared in the films "Go, Johnny, Go!" and "Teenage Millionaire." In 2007, he was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
