Karol Szymanowski was a leading Polish composer of the early 20th century. Born on October 6, 1882, in Tymoszówka (now Ukraine), he studied at the State Conservatory in Warsaw. Throughout his career, he composed significant works such as the ballet-pantomime "Harnasie," the opera "King Roger," and "Stabat Mater." His music often drew from Polish folk traditions, especially those of the Podhale and Kurpie regions. Szymanowski also served as the director of the Warsaw Conservatory from 1927 to 1929. He passed away on March 29, 1937, in Lausanne, Switzerland.
