Larry Young was a pioneering jazz organist known for his innovative approach to the Hammond B-3 organ. His 1966 album "Unity," released on the Blue Note label, is considered a post-bop classic. The album featured collaborations with trumpeter Woody Shaw, tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson, and drummer Elvin Jones. Young's career also included work with the Tony Williams Lifetime and participation in Miles Davis's "Bitches Brew" album.
