Lieutenant Pigeon is an English novelty music group formed in Coventry in 1972. A spin-off from the experimental music band Stavely Makepeace, the group was led by Rob Woodward, with their sound dominated by a honky-tonk style piano played by Woodward's mother, Hilda. Their biggest hit, "Mouldy Old Dough", reached number one on the UK charts in 1972. The follow-up single, "Desperate Dan", reached number 17 in 1973. Both tracks were largely instrumental, with minimal lyrics. The group was active in the 1970s and is known for their unique sound and style. The products available from the artist Lieutenant Pigeon include CDs.
