Master Oogway is a Norwegian jazz quartet formed in 2015 at the Norwegian Academy of Music. The group consists of guitarist Håvard Nordberg Funderud, saxophonist Lauritz Lyster Skeidsvoll, double bassist Karl Erik Horndalsveen, and drummer Martin Heggli Mellem. Their debut album was released in 2018 under the Clean Feed label. Their second album, "Earth and Other Worlds," was released in 2020 under the Rune Grammofon label. Their music is characterized by dynamic compositions and strong themes, emphasizing improvisation and spontaneity. The band is known for its energetic approach to progressive jazz.
