T. Texas Tyler, born David Luke Myrick, was an American country singer and songwriter best known for his 1948 hit "The Deck of Cards". Born in 1916 near Mena, Arkansas, he began his music career after World War II in Los Angeles. Other successful songs include "Filipino Baby", "Dad Gave My Dog Away", and "My Bucket's Got a Hole in It". Tyler was a frequent performer on the Grand Ole Opry and Louisiana Hayride, and in 1950, he hosted his own television show in Los Angeles. He passed away in 1972 in Springfield, Missouri.
