The Black Dog is a British electronic music group founded in 1989 by Ken Downie along with Ed Handley and Andy Turner. The group is considered a pioneer of techno's home-listening aesthetic in the early 1990s. After several self-released EPs, they signed with Warp Records in 1993 and released albums such as "Bytes" (1993) and "Spanners" (1995). In 1995, Handley and Turner departed to focus on their project Plaid. The group continued under Downie's leadership, later joined by Martin and Richard Dust. In 2025, they released the album "My Brutal Life 2".
