The Modest Jazz Trio was a jazz ensemble that recorded its sole album, "Good Friday Blues," in 1960. The trio comprised guitarist Jim Hall, known for his subtle tone and melodic approach; Red Mitchell, who played piano instead of his usual instrument, the double bass; and bassist Red Kelly. The album features six tracks, including two originals by Mitchell and renditions of standards like "Willow Weep for Me" and "I Remember You." The recording was released under the Pacific Jazz label and later reissued by Blue Note as part of their Tone Poet series.
