The Oppressed is a Welsh Oi! band formed in 1981 in Cardiff. Most of the band's members were skinheads. Throughout their career, the members, especially vocalist Roddy Moreno, openly expressed opposition to racism and fascism through their lyrics, interviews, and performances. In 1989, Moreno visited New York, where he met members of the Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice (SHARP) movement, and upon returning to the United Kingdom, he began promoting SHARP ideals among British skinheads. The band also has ties to other anti-racist groups, such as Anti-Fascist Action. Notable albums include "Oi! Oi! Music" (1984), "Fatal Blow" (1985), and "Dead & Buried" (1988).
