Tim Sparks is an American acoustic guitarist, singer, arranger, and composer. Born in 1954 in North Carolina, he studied classical guitar under Jesús Silva, a protégé of Andrés Segovia. In 1993, he won the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship in Kansas with his adaptation of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker." Sparks is known for his innovative arrangements of traditional Jewish music, evident in albums like "Neshamah" (1999) and "Little Princess" (2009). He has collaborated with musicians such as John Zorn, Greg Cohen, and Cyro Baptista. His music blends elements of folk, jazz, and world music.
