Tygers of Pan Tang is a British heavy metal band formed in 1978 in Whitley Bay, England. They are part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement. Their debut album, "Wild Cat," released in 1980, reached number 18 on the UK Albums Chart. The 1981 album "Spellbound" introduced guitarist John Sykes, who later joined Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake. The 1982 album "The Cage" featured a cover of "Love Potion No. 9," which entered the UK Singles Chart.
