Balimaya Project, led by composer and djembe player Yahael Camara Onono, presents their second album 'When The Dust Settles', released on July 21, 2023. This album is a personal and cathartic expression of grief, rage, love, and joy, blending West African rhythmic traditions with the energy of London's jazz scene. The release is available on 12-inch gatefold vinyl. The album celebrates the restorative power of Black male brotherhood among diaspora communities in London. Featuring guest vocalists Afronaut Zu, Obongjayar, and Fassara Sacko, each track intentionally engages with the significance of folkloric rhythms, illuminating themes such as the loss of a loved one, fatherhood, migration, and the search for truth.
