Description

Machito and His Salsa Big Band 1982 is an Afro-Cuban salsa jazz orchestra led by the legendary Machito, a pioneer in blending jazz and bebop with Afro-Cuban rhythms. Recorded in 1983 at the Fendal Sound Studio in the Netherlands, this album features seven energetic salsa tracks captured in a swift four-hour session, mostly in single takes. The album earned the 1983 Grammy Award for Best Latin Recording. This limited edition is available on translucent blue vinyl and includes liner notes by Dutch saxophonist Hans Dulfer on the back sleeve.
