'Journey to Nabta Playa' is a remarkable collaboration between composer and multi-instrumentalist Angel Bat Dawid and interdisciplinary artist Naima Nefertari. Released on May 2, 2025, this album is a spiritual and sonic journey inspired by the ancient stone circle at Nabta Playa, a sacred astronomical site in the desert of ancient Nubia. The Deluxe Edition is presented as a 180g double vinyl in a gatefold sleeve featuring original artwork by Nep Sidhu and a painting by Kahil El’Zabar. It also includes a beautiful booklet with texts by Neneh Cherry, Imani Mason Jordan, Tej Adeleye, and Dr. Adam Zanolini. The album comprises original compositions by Angel Bat Dawid and Naima Nefertari, along with a rare piece by the legendary Don Cherry and an unreleased composition by the unique David Ornette Cherry.
