Catamenia is a Finnish melodic black metal band formed in 1995 in Oulu. Their debut album, "Halls of Frozen North," was released in 1998 under Massacre Records. This was followed by "Morning Crimson" (1999), "Eternal Winter's Prophecy" (2000), and "Eskhata" (2002). The band is known for their melodic and atmospheric compositions that blend elements of black and death metal. Throughout their career, they have undergone several lineup changes, with founding member Riku Hopeakoski remaining a constant presence.
