AfroCubism is an exceptional 2010 album that blends the musical traditions of Cuba and Mali. Originally conceived in 1996, the project came to fruition 14 years later when Cuban and Malian musicians convened in a Madrid studio. The ensemble features Cuban singer and guitarist Eliades Ochoa, renowned from the Buena Vista Social Club, and Malian kora virtuoso Toumani Diabaté. The album offers a unique fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythms and West African melodies, creating a fresh and innovative musical experience. AfroCubism received critical acclaim and was regarded as one of the best world music albums of 2010.
