'Wonder Women' is the latest album by Christina Pluhar and her ensemble L'Arpeggiata, released on May 3, 2024. This unique project pays homage to 17th-century Italian female composers such as Barbara Strozzi and Francesca Caccini, while also celebrating strong female figures from the traditional music of Italy and Latin America. The album offers a diverse blend of Baroque music and folk songs that narrate the stories of heroines, saints, witches, and ordinary women. Joining Pluhar and L'Arpeggiata are soprano Céline Scheen, mezzo-sopranos Luciana Mancini and Benedetta Mazzucato, and alto Vincenzo Capezzuto, creating a rich and emotive musical experience.
